Citizens Advice

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity reliant on trained volunteers and funds to provide these vital services for local communities.

Citizens Advice impact report

The Citizens Advice impact report contains a selection of our highlights from 2007/08 to give you a feel for the breadth of our work, and the real impact it has on people’s lives.

It illustrates that we’re not just reaching lots of people, but we’re reaching them with quality advice. It shows how we work hard behind the scenes to prevent problems arising in the first place.

We helped 1.9 million people in a single year through our Citizens Advice Bureaux alone. Also during 2007/08 our self-help website (New window) Adviceguide.org.uk had over seven million visits.

The passion and commitment of staff and volunteers across the Citizens Advice service has enabled us to achieve so much in just a year.

Almost seventy years after the service was created, people still need it as much as ever.
