The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity reliant on trained volunteers and funds to provide these vital services for local communities.

You and v

Young volunteers at v festival 2007

v, the independent youth volunteering charity, is all about getting you involved, giving you roles with considerable responsibility. You can come away knowing that YOU have been active in making a difference but also with meaningful and tangible skills that are hard to come by in conventional work experience placements. As well as formal qualifications you will come away with skills that will be of benefit in all aspects of life, such as working with others, problem solving and decision making.

There are various roles open to you depending on where your interests lie. These include: an adviser, an administrator, a receptionist, a social campaigner or events organiser. Full training will be given, plus you will have the opportunity to gain widely recognised qualifications for the work that they be will be doing.

If you’re near an area running a v project and looking for a great route into work, or some really useful work experience, or you just want to give something back to your local community, check out these projects.

Citizens Advice and v

v aims to engage young people (16 to 25) in structured and meaningful volunteering activities. v has three aims; to improve the quantity, quality and diversity of youth volunteering opportunities. For more information visit (New window) www.wearev.com

Citizens Advice has been awarded funding from v for two separate programmes. The first is to engage young people in part-time volunteering and the second is for full-time volunteering.
