Course outline

This course covers

  • the procedure and practice of Social Security Appeals
  • how to prepare and represent at an Appeal Tribunal
  • challenging a Tribunal decision

Learning objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • understand the importance of representation
  • identify when an appeal may be appropriate
  • use relevant Acts, Regulators and case law effectively
  • identify types of evidence that may prove useful
  • describe the constitution and function of the tribunal
  • have an understanding of the role of a representative
  • present a case in a methodical way
  • identify possible courses of action after the tribunal decision
