Employment and support allowance

Course outline

Providing a comprehensive overview of this new benefit, this course is suitable for generalist advisers with a basic understanding of the benefit system, as well as those with more experience.

Learning objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • identify potential entitlement to ESA
  • explain the work-related activity criteria and identify potential exemptions
  • advise clients about the assessment process
  • recognise the main differences between ESA and the benefits it replaces
