Benefits for under 25s

Course outline

This course covers:

  • highlighting rules specific to young people under 25
  • benefits and training options available to younger clients
  • restrictions within the legal framework

This course does not include any of the immigration, presence or residence conditions

Learning objectives

Upon completion of the course participants should be able:

  • identify the current policies relating to young people such as the Connexions service
  • assist young people and/or their families to claim benefits which are appropriate to their circumstances
  • address common problems associated with housing benefit and the social fund
  • ensure that young people with disabilities claim their full entitlement to benefit

Dates and venues

Duration one day 10.00am to 4.00pm

Note: This course is not scheduled to be delivered during our next training term (Oct 2008 - Mar2009). This course will be available to be delivered in-house during this period.
